Young Explorers at the Academy Art Museum, Easton, MD, is a museum-based preschool in association with the Smithsonian Institution’s Early Childhood Education Center. The goal of Young Explorers is to introduce young children to new ideas through a thematic approach to learning - from shapes, colors, letters and numbers to Picasso and Van Gogh.
The Young Explorers program puts art and museum objects at the center of a child's day, encouraging exploration and discovery. As a part of Young Explorers children will have ongoing opportunities to interact with professional musicians and artists who perform, teach, or exhibit at the Museum. They will learn about the creative process through active participation with these visiting artists.
